After graduating with two Bachelor Degrees from Laval University in Quebec, both in Visual Arts and Teaching Visual Arts and Dramatic Arts, Danielle pursued a career as an artist in Quebec and earned recognition for two of her sculptures which were exhibited and sold at the Salon du Pavillon Pollock in the Galerie des Arts. She also earned accolades for the auction of one of her paintings at The Happening, and also won third prize for her snow sculpture at the Quebec Winter Carnival. In 2001 Danielle secured the position as Arts Teacher at Ecole Secondaire Saint Charles Garnier in Whitby, Ontario. Danielle is now retired from teaching and spends her days in her studio on beautiful Little Glamor Lake in Highlands East.
Danielle creates for the pleasure of playing with the material, the colours, textures and shapes. She likes to borrow from the techniques of abstract expressionism which results in unexpected paintings, with or without subjects. This approach, combined with the onset of spring, her passion for gardening and love for her natural surroundings most recently directed her to create Jardinage/Gardening on canvas, a mixed medium painting, 83cm X 143cm.
