I am an artist working in pyrography, dividing my time between Haliburton and Waterloo counties. Most of my work features wildlife, as the sepia tones of woodburning lend themselves to the depiction of fur and feathers. Each piece is one of a kind, with a protective finish of varnish.

Biljana Banchotova is a visionary artist and founder of Whirling Wisdom @ D*VinePlay Studio and Frog Hollow @ SpiralGate of Art & Wellbeing—a creative sanctuary where visual art, nature, sound, and spirit come together.
Her original paintings and immersive artworks explore sacred geometry, spirit imagery, and flowing expressions of Creation Energy. Her multidisciplinary practice extends beyond canvas to floor murals, stained glass, hand drums, didgeridoos, Spirit Shields, children’s book illustrations, sound, storytelling, movement, and ceremonial arts.
A Certified Lead-Artist Educator through the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, Biljana brings together diverse artistic traditions with a deep respect for ancestral wisdom, lived experience, and the interconnectedness of creativity and wellbeing.
Born in South Africa, raised in Europe, and now rooted in Highlands East, Biljana welcomes visitors into a living landscape shaped by art, gardens, music, and intentional spaces for reflection and renewal.
The studio exhibits Biljana’s original creations on an ongoing basis and is open by appointment. Commissions are welcome.

John is basically a self taught artist specializing in portraiture of Pets and People. His pet portraits are wood burned onto a bass wood plaque and then hand painted in acrylics. People portraits are done in colour pencils, a very fast growing medium in the artist community, or black and white charcoal on paper ready for framing by the client. The pet portraits do not require framing, however, and are ready to hang.
